The Rosedeer Hotel is in a little place called Wayne, Alberta. It's located about 16-km and 11 single-lane bridges southeast of Drumheller, Alberta. Wayne sprung up when the Red Deer Coal Company built the Rose Deer Mine, in 1912. In its heyday, the town had a population of more than 2000 people.

Wayne, Alberta is a former coal mining community just outside of Drumheller. With the exception of the Rosedeer Hotel and the Last Chance Saloon, there's not much left to see in this old ghost town. The last of the mines closed in the 1950s, but the surrounding badlands are still as scenic as ever and make for a nice stop when touring the Red.
