Apart from shiny tank panels, the 745cc boxer looks every bit a sensible old-school boxer, with its big mudguards, gaitered forks, and a generously sized dual seat.

This 1970 BMW R75/5 is believed to be the 269th example built and was sold new by Midway Motorcycle Co. in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. Power comes from an air-cooled 749cc opposed twin paired with a 4-speed transmission, with prior work reportedly including an engine re-seal, cylinder head rebuild, and suspension upgrades.

The BMW R75 stands out by its integral two-wheel drive design, with drive shafts to both its rear wheel and the third side-car wheel, from a locking differential, as well as a transfer case offering both road and off-road gear ratios, through which all forward and reverse gears worked.
