Rumour from Doiug Chandler has it that Mike Oldfield never even used it on the record. The bass was in mint condition when it was later sold in March 2003. 1989.

Mike Oldfield may seem to be a mediocre guitarist because he often plays simple guitar parts, but he's one of those guitarists that gives more importance to the guitar effects than the technical aspects, and I think it's the most important thing. What's really amazing is that he accomplished so much at such a young age; he was only 20 when "Tubular Bells" was released. Many people regard his later work as rubbish.
