Review of Nile River. Reviewed 24 January 2020. We booked a 7 night Nile cruise on ms Royal Viking. First the few bad points. Upon arrival the "guides" Magik and galal did a great impression of obtaining money by menace. The £27 pp , which had not previously been mentioned was requested to be put into an envelope.

We would highly recommend taking an Egyptian river cruise through Mercury Holidays - we loved how well organised everything was and enjoyed our boat the MS Royal Viking. Our tour guides, Mohammed (Cairo), Mohsin (Nile cruise), Emad (Luxor) were very knowledgeable on ancient Egypt and keen to make sure we had a good time.

The MS Royal Viking was little more than a 2 to 3 star experience. Far short of the 5 star luxury advertised. Cabins and communal areas were tired and shabby.. We have just completed an all inclusive (worth the £99 extra) 7 night Nile cruise, 5 night Red Sea stay at Fort Arabesque Hotel & Spa Makadi Bay Hurgarda (reviewed)& 2 night stay at Le Meridien Pyramid Hotel Giza (reviewed).
