Why are there iron-sights in the game? You can look down the sights of the .357 for a slight zoom and increase in accuracy at the expense of your rate of fire. It was a mechanic that was present in Half-Life: Deathmatch, but we've brought it into the singleplayer to help solidify the weapon's role.

This is an option because Half-Life, the game Black Mesa is based off of, has the simple zoom in effect for aiming the Revolver and Crossbow and not the more modern way of video game aiming down sights.. If you use classic iron sight it just zoom in closer like in the original hl, if you don't choose it will let you look through the scope.

There is an option for "classic" iron sights in black mesa options. The crossbow scope worked the same way regarding you enabled the option or not. So i count it as iron sight as well.

They decided to have the revolver, as the fact that it has no secondary trigger function, use iron sights for better aiming, as in Half Life, the original gold source version, not the source version, is a sniper in the form of a hand cannon, now you can snipe them with better accuracy. Sorry to break it to you only the revolver has iron sights.

Iron Sights will be ONLY used on the 357 and the Crossbow, as they had a zoom function in HL1. There will be an option to remove the ADS for the 357, and likely just have it like it would be in HL1 itself. They do have a lowered weapon when sprinting, but that doesn't mean it's a direct CoD sequel.

In staying faithful to HL1, there aren't any iron sights. The magnum has them because in HL1, there was a scope, and the creators decided to allow Gordon to aim down the sights instead. It's not a console game, so. No need to be like that. Yeah because a console game would actually bother to model the other side of the gun lol.

Weapons in Black Mesa have generally less spread, particularly MP-5 and shotgun. Also, Magnum can be aimed down the sight, in the newer title, and seems to have less recoil than it does in Half-Life. We always felt like some original Half-Life weapons, specifically Tau Cannon and Gluon Gun, are not given enough air time in Half-Life.

Many weapons have a secondary fire mode which uses, by default the right mouse button. Besides,ADS feels very clunky for me and it would only slow down the gameplay.
