What it is, is art. In fact, a greenhouse constructed from salvaged 18th and 19th century stained glass, and reconfigured into a fantasy land of aliens and insects. Entitled Sacré blur, it's the work of artists, Tony Heywood and Alison Condie and made from cast-off stained glass collected from the rubbish bins of English and European.

First, the contractor and his crew poured a footing 2 feet wide and about a foot deep. Then they pushed 2-foot lengths of 5/8-inch steel reinforcing rod half into the wet cement, along the center line of the footing. The rods lock the foundation walls to the footings. We let the footings cure, or air-dry, for a few days.

The greenhouse is constructed of reclaimed windows and a stained-glass transom. The gable end is made of cut steel I designed, cut, and then painted.
