How to run a 5E wild-west setting campaign? : r/DnD r/DnD • 5 yr. ago Anorith12 How to run a 5E wild-west setting campaign? 5th Edition Hi, I'm sort of a new dm and I think the normal dnd setting is a little boring for my party so I thought of running a wild-west setting campaign. Is there anything different from standard 5e?

Homebrew (I think I tagged this wrong last time, so here goes again). For the past few weeks I've had the idea for a Wild West style campaign setting rattling around in my brain. I think it'd be a really interesting environment for D&D, and I don't imagine that there would need to be that many rules changes (other than cosmetic) to make it work.

Howdy, Y'all, I'm posting here to promote snakes and saloons, a western themed supplement for D&D 5e. Snakes and Saloons introduces 11 new classes, 8 new races, 15 backgrounds, as well as a bunch of new magic items and monsters, all western fantasy themed. The current version is 1.3 with version 1.4 on the horizon along with the expansion.

RonanKarr. My homebrew content for a Wild West themed d&d campaign. Input is welcome. Hey there guys, so basically this is a more modernized campaign inside of a d&d world that I have created over the years for my campaign settings known as Terrath. It follows the d&d pantheon and culture setting. The story lines and history differ from d&d.

May 2, 2010. #5. Now for "holes in the ground full of treasure" the wild west had Gold Mines, which can make for an ideal dungeon. Of course you've got to dig them first before they become overrun by monsters. You could play with this, perhaps, by having there be a "second gold rush" in the setting.

The important thing here is "role." In a Wild West fantasy pastiche, there are lots of roles to fill, but they don't have to be 1 for 1. Establishing the Western trope, relating it to a fantasy trope, and then adding a twist is half the fun. Oh, and don't forget the bards: they become singing cowboys in this mashup. 😁.

by mAcular DM [5e] Wild West D&D? I've always wanted to do a Wild West D&D setting, complete with pistols and so forth. Those are easy to model with the rules. I can just convert a bow to a pistol, a crossbow to a musket, etc. My question is, what about the armor? What did they use in the wild west? Nothing really, right?

While we may or may not end up doing it, it did get me thinking of good classes/subclasses that'd work in the setting, beyond the obvious Gunslinger Fighter.

One of the more unique settings for a Dungeons & Dragons game is the wild west. The combination of adventure and magic of D&D, with chaos, ambitions, and lawlessness of western themes can create fun and memorable stories. RELATED: Tips For Making A Country Western Themed D&D Campaign
